The Job

As a representative for Ready Pest Control, you will be selling for one of the top-rated, fastest growing pest control companies in the Illinois/Wisconsin area.

Your job will be to seek out new customers for Ready Pest Control by going door to door in residential areas and sign new customers up for a one year agreement for quarterly pest control service. In many cases, you will already see a need for pest control at the doorstep and it is simply a case of showing that to the customer and educating them on the value of having Ready Pest Control service their home.

You will be trained in the best ways to approach the doors and present the service to potential customers. Previous experience is not required. Many of our best reps have never had any previous sales experience.

How much can I make? This is a commission-only job, as such there is no minimum guarantee. There is also no limit to what you can earn. You ulitmately decide how much you want to make. Check out our commission scale here.

What is a typical day like? Your schedule can change, but in general, your day breaks down something like this:

12pm Meet for Correlation

12:45pm Drive to area with Sales Team

1pm Knock doors-- 2 hours

3pm-3:30pm Brief meal

4pm--Dark Knock Doors-- 5 hours

9pm-10pm Call Leads- return to office to report stats/paperwork

Do I need to use my own car? We highly recommend having your own car, but can work with those who don't. You will typically work with one or two other people during the day, so you may not need to drive every day.

Will I have to spray any houses? No. We have certified technicians that do all the treatments.

Where will I live? Ready provides housing in nice apartments for you during the entire summer. There are usually 3-4 reps per apartment. Many reps prefer to bring their friends to come sell with them for the summer.

What if my school starts/ends later? You determine your own start and end date.

Training

Your training throughout this summer will not only help you in

your job this summer, but throughout your life. Many pest control sales reps have gone on to secure competitive full-time jobs on the strength of their pest control sales experience.

The training will consist of daily meetings and a company sales manual along with DVD's, CD's, and books to supplement your training. The best reps spend time every day studying as this is one of the only jobs where you can truly earn according to what you learn.

The daily correlation meeting is the time for the reps to ask questions and go deeper into sales techniques, insects, and products used during the service. It is also a time used to set goals as individually and as a team.
